I am a hard-core witch who knows the subject matter. THIS book has passed ALL my fact 'checks' that I use with such formula/recipe style of books, to see if I'm dealing with somebody knowledgeable or another ignorant 'fluff & light' offering. Finally somebody who actually knows what they are talking about! Well worth the price, IMO.

This book covers just about every item you will ever need to cast a spell. In some cases, the items or substances are extremely obscure. This aside, the book offers descriptions of every item and it's potential use. The book also offers written spells with details on how to prepare them. Although I would not advice any witch to prepare or cast a spell written by or taken from a book, some of these concoctions are decent starting off points. The writer takes the Craft quite seriously. This book was not written lightly, nor is it another "made for the teenage witch" or "wicca 101" text. Don't buy it if you are looking for a "how-to" guide to be a witch. If you are looking for herbs, spices, oils, etc., and their uses in the art of magic, then this is one of the best books I've ever found to that end. It is especially wonderful for those of us who prefer a solitary path.

I love this book, not only do I find myself going to the book often for information, I also find myself looking up other things in it as well. I wouldn't trade this book for all of the riches in the world! I love the recipes, floorwashes, charms and enchantments and more!
